Cécile Barbara, mosaic artist

Floors, terraces, kitchen sideboards, bathroom decors, swimming pool floors, logos, signalling boards… I create mosaic decors for floors and walls for homes, hotels, restaurants, shops, corporate buildings. I work with interior designers or directly with my clients.

I learned my skill with mosaic artist Pierre Mesguich, who is the reference in the French decoration world, and created my own workshop in 2006. Decorations are created on brown paper in my workshop in Saint Vertu (near Chablis), Burgundy and transported in patches to their future setting, ready to be installed. I work alone or with a team depending on the size and time schedule of a project.

What guides me? The color, the light, the contrasts of the materials. I approach mosaics in a contemporary way, finding inspiration in nature and revisiting oriental and asian designs. I also draw from the universe of the painting and sculpture, Matisse, Miro, Klimt, Niki de Saint Phalle, Andy Warhol, Gaudi…

I create a unique and personal decor for each client, taking into account his taste and style.
